FAQ
Who are you guys?
The goats? Obviously. But in actuality, the creators of NWHS SMP are Nicholas Plowman & Aiden Lawrence. You can contact either one of us at [email protected].
Who can join the server?
Northwest High School students as well as invited students from MCPS. You can get invites from other Northwest High School students.
How do I join?
Log in with your StudentVUE account, add your Minecraft name on your dashboard, then join the server. You're let in automatically. You may also join the discord server to dm one of the owners, or email us at [email protected] with verification that you are a student at nwhs/mcps, and you mc user & discord user (if need be) to get verified. If you are no longer a Northwest/MCPS Student, you must dm/email the owners in order to get whitelisted. MCPS wipes your student id after you leave/graduate.
I got banned what do I do??
Log in with your account, and check your appeals, or email/contact us using discord or [email protected]. This may help get your ban lifted.
Can I play on Bedrock (console or phone)?
Yes. On your dashboard, choose Bedrock and type your username. Java and Bedrock players are connected on the same server.
I changed my Minecraft name. Do I need to do anything?
No. After your first join, your account is linked, so a new name still works. If you switch to a different Minecraft account, update it on your dashboard.
How do I invite a friend from another school?
On your dashboard, enter their MCPS student ID under Invite a friend. Then they log in with their own account and add their Minecraft name. You may only invite one other student at a time.
Why do you need my StudentVUE login?
Only to check that you're an MCPS student and which school you go to. We use an official API provided by StudentVUE in order to allow you to login, the only information that we call for is what school you go to.
